Pierre Bourdieu (1930-2002) was one of the great European sociologists and a controversial and committed thinker. Without any ostentation or confessional concession, Pierre Bourdieu makes a contribution to strong and sincere understanding of their field of research and of twentieth century academic France as well as to his own self-understanding.
